A Vaudeville performer becomes the lab assistant to a research scientist experimenting on re-animating dead tissue. When the doctor is accidentally killed during one of his experiments, the assistant takes on the persona of the doctor and continues his work. The imposter does succeed in reviving the deceased the doctor but then slowly falls into madness.
