My Pet Monster is a character that began as a plush doll first produced by American Greetings in 1986.

Following on the gross out trend of the 80s that included stuff like Madballs, Boglins and Garbage Pail Kids, My Pet Monster was one of the few plush dolls marketed to boys at the time.

Along with the plush there was also a My Pet Monster straight to video movie and a My Pet Monster animated series.

Other characters were also created with brightly colored fur and unorthodox names like Gwonk, Wogster and Rark.
