M.R. James story…which was written to be placed in Queen Mary of Great Britian’s famous Doll’s House in the 1920’s, in a tiny doll house book in the library there (amongst many other famous authors of the day). It is abridged here for time…so much atmosphere and superlitive writing may be lost, but I hope not too much…

There is a quite wonderful short film adaptation at (http://vimeo.com/56113955) on Vimeo worth your visit…very trunticated and heavily altered…but still quite evocative, and the ‘doll’s’ are most cleverly rendered….
